Job Role: Head of Video Content Creation

Job Description

The Head of Video Content Creation will lead one of the region’s largest in-house video teams, managing 40+ videographers, editors, photographers, and production specialists. This role is responsible for driving the creative and operational vision behind all video content, with a strong emphasis on short-form, social-first videos tailored for high-profile government entities.

You will oversee ideation, conceptualization, production workflows, and team performance, ensuring it delivers high-quality, timely, and innovative video content across all digital platforms. 

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of videographers, editors, and photographers.

  • Establish workflows, creative standards, and production guidelines to ensure consistency and efficiency.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, performance reviews, and capability development.

  • Manage hiring needs, resource planning, and team structure based on project demands.

    Creative Direction & Ideation

  • Drive ideation and conceptualization of short-form video content aligned with government communication objectives.

  • Translate briefs into compelling visual concepts, storyboards, and social-first content formats.

  • Ensure creative output is culturally aligned, relevant, and optimized for each social platform.

  • Maintain a high standard of storytelling, pacing, framing, and editing across all outputs.

    Short-Form Social Media Expertise

  • Develop and refine best practices for short-form content (Reels, TikTok, Shorts, motion graphics, behind-the-scenes, micro-stories).

  • Stay ahead of platform trends and use insights to inform creative decisions.

  • Ensure content is timely, topical, and aligned with digital behavior and government communication guidelines. 

            Production Oversight

  • Supervise end-to-end production, including planning, pre-production, shoots, and post-production.

  • Oversee quality control for camera work, editing, color grading, sound, and final delivery.

  • Ensure rapid turnaround for high-volume content needs without compromising quality.

  • Manage production equipment, studio setup, and asset organization.

    Stakeholder & Client Collaboration

  • Work closely with government clients to understand objectives, safeguard messaging, and shape visual direction.

  • Present concepts, gather feedback, and guide teams to align output with strategic communication goals.

  • Collaborate with Creative Directors, Account Managers, and Strategy teams for seamless execution. 

            Strategic & Operational Contribution

  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and resource optimization for the video department.
  • Ensure processes support scalability while maintaining creative excellence.

          Qualifications & Requirements 

  • 10+ years of experience in video production, content creation, or related fields.

  • Proven experience managing large creative/production teams.

  • Strong creative vision with hands-on expertise in short-form video content.

  • Deep understanding of social media platforms, trends, and government communication standards.

  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience working with government entities in the UAE or region is a strong advantage.
