Job Description

The Head of Art is the creative guardian of the agency’s visual output - leading, mentoring, and elevating the art and aesthetic quality across all markets. This person sets the visual tone for the agency, ensuring every piece of work - from digital campaigns to 360 productions - is bold, distinctive, and unmistakably unboring.

They combine deep design craft with leadership vision - inspiring teams to push boundaries, modernize visual language, and create work that looks as good as it thinks.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Creative Leadership

  • Define and drive the agency’s visual and design standards across all touchpoints (social, digital, print, film, OOH, experiential).
  • Partner with the Executive Creative Director and CEO to shape creative strategy and ensure aesthetic excellence.
  • Provide creative direction on major pitches, brand identity work, and high-visibility campaigns.
  • Champion the “unboring” spirit — elevating the aesthetic, craft, and storytelling of every deliverable.

Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire art directors, designers, motion artists, and visual content creators across regions.
  • Set up structured feedback and growth processes to enhance team performance and creative craft.
  • Identify and recruit top creative talent to strengthen the agency’s art discipline.
  • Encourage experimentation with design tools, AI, and modern production techniques to keep the agency ahead.
     

Aesthetic Strategy

  • Establish and evolve the agency’s design philosophy — balancing global trends with regional cultural relevance.
  • Curate the agency’s visual identity: from campaign art direction to social media look & feel to brand templates.
  • Introduce mood boards, inspiration decks, and visual reference libraries to raise the design IQ of the agency.
     

Collaboration & Execution

  • Work closely with copywriters, strategists, and account teams to ensure cohesive storytelling.
  • Oversee art direction on shoots, production, and post-production to ensure the final output meets world-class standards.
  • Supervise the visual presentation of client deliverables, new business decks, and case studies.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in art direction or design, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role at a creative or integrated agency.
  • Proven track record of producing award-winning or highly recognized work with strong visual craft.
  • Deep knowledge of modern aesthetics, photography, typography, and digital-first design.
  • Strong understanding of branding, film direction, social content design, and emerging visual trends.
  • Comfortable leading multi-market creative teams and working across time zones.
