Role Context :

Responsible for the inception, planning, development and delivery of new WSB products and releasing the WSB products to the market by meeting the overall goals of the AIB; this extends from enhancement of existing products to developing new ones. Product Manager will build products from on hand ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on market needs and managing the smooth & effective running of the WSB products & MIS. Responsible to assist Head of the Department to manage and deliver business objectives by working as a team member and independently to manage the complete product lifecycle from planning to tactical activities to ensure overall business success.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting to build and grow a stable base of Shari'a Compliant Products.
  • Assisting the Head of the department in planning, designing, testing, developing and everything to promote the designated new and existing products by ensuring that the Bank achieves its business objectives.
  • Identify existing products strengths and weaknesses and suggest areas of improvement.
  • Identify competitors' offerings, review their niche, approach and success in the market and assess their strengths and weaknesses.
  • Interact with other departments and channels to ensure availability of all necessary materials and content for product releases, training, MIS and ongoing sales.
  • Manage all product & MIS related assignments.
  • Ensure streamlined end-to-end product processes for superior customer experience and MIS internal effectiveness.
  • Development of product policy documents, structures and related documentation for Islamic finance products (for new products and & for existing products).
  • Conducting Islamic products training upon needed by connecting in training and educating bank staff about the products.
  • Reviewing and structure Corporate, Commercial & SME banking along with investment banking transactions under Islamic modes of finance.
  • Liaison with internal and external departments for development of products and approvals from CBO.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to gauge the bank's overall product portfolio strength.
  • Develop concept papers for new products and engage with marketing with the product collateral.
  • Engage with Credit Admin, Risk and Sharia for ongoing product activities.
  • Assist IT for new system development and propose strategies to enhance X- sell, retention and customer acquisition through product development efforts
  • Assisting the Head of the department in the development of policies and procedure manuals regarding new products and services.
  • Assisting in all aspect of product design, product programs, implementation and delivery processes, client interface, relationship team co-ordination and recommend pricing strategies and modifications.
  • Assist the process of the product advertising campaign with the Marketing Department and assist in developing marketing material for new products as and when required.

Required Qualification & Experience :

University graduate in Finance/Accounting other related discipline. Preferably in Islamic Economics with at least 5 to 6 years experience of relevant experience. Other Professional certificates like ACCA/CA/CFA will add advantage. 

General Requirments/Skills & Competencies :

-          Responsible for the inception, planning, development and delivery of the products to the market meeting the overall goals of the Bank

·          Responsible to enhance the existing products to developing new ones upon needed and ensure to deliver business objectives

·          Product Manager will build products & MIS from on hand ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on market needs.

·          Will work as a team member and independently to manage the complete product lifecycle from planning to tactical activities to ensure overall business success.

·          Outstanding communication skills joined with an innovative blend of Sharia finance ideally gained in an Islamic financial institution with Risk assessment capabilities. 

·          Personal flexibility, team work, performance-driven and hands-on approach is critical along with understanding of Products’ Sharia principles.

·          Ensuring satisfactory CBO and Internal Audit ratings and Strict adherence to Shariah Compliance.

·          Ensure the collaborative environment; It is essential.
